Congratulations are in order for Def Jam recording artist Chrisette Michelle. She just scored the coveted number 1 album slot on the Billboard 200 charts with EPIPHANY. Michelle had some stiff competition in the race to number one. Two of the most notables being Ciara and Miley Cyrus. Ciara’s new album FANTASY RIDE was released amidst a worldwind of promo including MTV spots and a big SNL performance with Justin Timberlake. While Miley Cyrus’ HANNAH MONTANA: THE MOVIE sdtrk has been holding steady in the top 5 spot for the last six weeks. Michelle who really did’nt have much of a promotional push for EPIPHANY, still managed to beat out both ladies according to HitsDailyDouble by a mere 2,000 copies. I can’t tell you how estatic I am about her accomplishment! Granted I was’nt Chrisette’s number one supporter, I do know the girl can SANG and has pure, undoubted talent. And to know that raw QUALITY music actually won in the end, is music to my ears (pun intended). It actually shows, maybe music buyers are starting to take notice, and realizing that it’s not all about the bling and the image. This proves that talent does prevail in the end. If you need a reason as to why you should go buy your copy of EPIPHANY today, check out this performance of Chrisette Michelle singing “Blame It On Me” on last night’s Late Show with David Letterman. This stuff is cake!!

Love the song Blame It On Me! It is nice to see the dark horse win the race! But I heard they were selling her CD for $2.99! Explains the big numbers!
