A Yemenia Airways flight carrying 153 people (142 passengers and 11 crew members) has crashed into the Indian Ocean. The passenger jet was trying to land during heavy wind on the island nation of Comoros. Rescuers were searching the wreckage of the downed jet Tuesday when they found a “miracle” discovery. A 5 year old boy was found alive in the waters and taken to a hospital. Three bodies have also been retrieved so far, along with debris from the plane. Flight 626 left Sanaa Monday at 9:30 p.m. (1830 GMT) for what was expected to be a four-and-a-half-hour flight. The airline has three regular flights a week to Moroni, off the east coast of Africa, about 2,900 km (1,800 miles) south of Yemen. Our prayers and condolences go out to the families and friends of the crash victims.
Wow, this is such an unfortunate situation. Thank god, that 5 year old survived! Let’s all pray that there are more miracles for the people who have yet to be found and that there are more surviors. This couldn’t have come at a more worse time, considering not even a month ago the Air France Flight crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. This definitely raises questions as to if flying is as safe as officials say.
