Hot off the heels of selling a staggering 964,000 copies of his new album (The Carter IV), Lil’ Wayne can add another blessing to his list, 18 BET Hip Hop Award nominations!
The rapper is nominated in every major category, including: ‘Lyricist of the Year’, ‘CD of the Year’, ‘Best Live Performer’, and ‘People’s Champ Award (Viewers’ Choice)’.
Wayne is up against his own Young Money protege Nicki Minaj in a few of the categories. Minaj is the ONLY female rapper nominated this year, with 9 nods.
The sixth annual BET Hip-Hop Awards will be taped at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta on October 1, and will air on BET on October 11th.
Actor/comedian Mike Epps will serve as host for the third year in a row.
