The Grammy Awards have announced LL Cool J as the official host for their 2012 ceremony, airing live at 8 pm on Febuary 12th. The rapper/actor is the first person to host the show in 7 years.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night,” he said in a statement. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream.”

The last public figure to host the Grammy Awards, was Queen Latifah, back in 2005.
