You can add starring on a hit TV series to her long list of achievements; Grammy and Oscar award winning singer Jennifer Hudson will be joining the second season of NBC’s hit musical series, Smash.

According to TVLine, Jennifer Hudson will be playing Veronica, a successful Broadway star who shakes up the lives of lead stars Ivy and Karen.

“First Dreamgirls, now Smash. I have no doubt Jennifer will continue to deliver even more inspiration to the audience responsible for giving us a second season on NBC,” said NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt. “This series is a showcase for some of the best musical talent in the business and that’s a fitting description for Jennifer Hudson. Her character will represent someone who reached their Broadway dream but also paid a price for it.”

The second season of Smash premieres on September 17.
