Following photos in the studio with R&B leading man Miguel, this weekend we saw the snaps below of Beyonce in the studio with her hubby Jay-Z surface to the light. Then came the sneak peek of her exclusive HBO Special due to air February 16. Now in what will be sure to up the ante, singer/songwriter The Dream has confirmed that the Queen Bey, will be in fact releasing new music to proceed her Superbowl Halftime Show performance on February 3, 2013. Speaking with the folks at Billboard he confirmed:
“Definitely. She’s got her stuff going. She took the summer to start recording, and now she’s in a place where she’s ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan.”
“She’s already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out,” he says. “I’m sure there will probably be a couple records you hear before the Super Bowl gets here.”
Definitely a smart idea to capitalize on the major epicness and promo that is the Superbowl Halftime Special, this is a very smart move on Bey’s part. As though we are sure many were just excited to hear of her performance which we know would be a showstopper, it only raises the stakes to assume that she will more than likely incorporate a new single into that performance and subsequently release that to the masses around the same time. I for one would love for Bey to keep this forthcoming music in the veins of the ‘4’ era, which was mostly R&B/soul based, even though it did not perform as commercially well as her previous efforts. Imagine kicking off this era where the last one left off but updated similar music of course, on a major stage like the Superbowl. #Winning!
