14 songs, 17 videos ; 145 minutes of perfection! Just mere hours ago Beyoncé released a self-entitled ‘visual album’ complete with 14 new songs as well as the visual accompanies. Album contributions include: Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kelly Rowland, Frank Ocean, Pharrell, Timbaland, Michelle Williams, husband Jay Z and even her baby, Blue Ivy.
Queen Bey first alluded to the album on Instagram when she posted a video-teaser with the one-word caption; “Surprise!” Shortly after she put out a video on Facebook explaining why she didn’t give prior warning. She says; “I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it. I’m bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”
The album is currently available on iTunes but Beyoncé’s party insists that hard copies are being manufactured and will be released in time for the holidays!
