So the video has gone viral within the first 24 hours of its debut, raking in millions of views, and being featured on some of today’s biggest media outlets including, CNN, The NY Times, TMZ, and countless blogs. Grammy Award Winning singer Brandy Norwood, has been very consistent with blogging her journey within Broadway, and experiences in The Big Apple. The singer has shared videos of her supportive celebrity friend visits, personal fashion requirements, and her heartwarming fan meet & greets, which all candidly displays the comedic yet humble character that she is.
In her latest blog, she titles ‘ #AMomentInNY – Can A Sistah Get One Fan?”, the singer boards a crowded NYC train with True Exclusives’ very own, Silent, to spontaneously deliver a flawless vocal of ‘Home’ from the musical, The Wiz. Draped in a hoody, a headscarf, and dark shades, A disguised Brandy concludes the vocal number, and turns around to the cold New York passengers for approval to which they had no response. Brandy jokingly asks’ So what yall thought of that, Yall thought that was cool?” no one responds, as No one knew it was the ‘I Wanna Be Down’ singer. Being from New York, you know that citizens of the concrete jungle perform on trains everyday seeking compensation or donations in exchange for their talent, and one New Yorker let Brandy know exactly what she needed to do to “stand out”. “They see this all the time” the passenger advises Brandy, “You got talent, go for it, ….you gotta do something different”. Brandy embraces his kind advice, little did he know, Brandy was actually on her way to capture New York on a larger scale than just a subway cart, ….’Broadway dahling’.
